Teamwork Triumphs: Army, CRPF, and J&K Police Nail Terrorist in Lidwas, Pahalgam.
Srinagar: In a significant breakthrough for security forces, Operation Mahadev today scored a massive victory near Srinagar, eliminating three Pakistani terrorists in a decisive encounter. Among those gunned down was Suleiman Shah, identified as the mastermind behind the horrific April 22nd Pahalgam attack that claimed the lives of 26 innocent people.
Shah, a notorious Lashkar-e-Taiba operative also known as Hashim Moosa, had previously served in the Pakistan Army. His brutal role in the Baisaran Valley terror attack in Pahalgam had led the Jammu and Kashmir Police to announce a hefty Rs 20 lakh reward for information leading to his capture.
Confirming the successful operation this morning, security sources stated that Suleiman Shah was indeed among the slain. The joint forces also neutralized two other terrorists in Operation Mahadev: Abu Hamza and Yasir. Yasir is also strongly suspected of being involved in the cold-blooded killings in Pahalgam.
The successful operation was a testament to the seamless coordination between the Indian Army, CRPF, and the Jammu and Kashmir Police, who together executed today’s crucial joint mission.
The Indian Army’s Chinar Corps confirmed today via its official X (formerly Twitter) account that security forces have initiated “Operation Mahadev” in the Lidwas area.
In an early update, the Chinar Corps reported an “intense firefight” resulting in the neutralization of three terrorists. They emphasized that the operation is ongoing, stating, “Operation Continues.”
“High-Value” Terrorists Neutralized in Operation Mahadev; Major Cache of Arms Recovered
All terrorists eliminated in Operation Mahadev were identified as “high-value” targets. Acting on precise intelligence, security forces launched the operation in the Mulnar area of Harwan.
Reinforcements quickly arrived on the scene, and a thorough combing exercise is now underway to secure the area.
NDTV has obtained an exclusive image of the targeted terrorist hideout, nestled deep within a forest. The visuals clearly show multiple firearms. Sources confirm the recovery of Carbine and AK-47 rifles, 17 rifle grenades, and a significant amount of other arms and ammunition.
Security forces suspect these terrorists were plotting a major attack in Jammu and Kashmir, making their neutralization a critical success.
